Game Review: Path of Exile

Path of Exile is an Online Action RPG, produced by Grinding Gear Games studion in New Zealand. For reference, other popular games of the genre are the Diablo and Torchlight series. I've been playing it for the last few months and have fallen madly in love with it. I wanted to share my insight on the game with you, so I decided to make a complete review.

Note: What you're about to read is my personal take on the matter and my point of view on the game, so please do not be angered if our opinions differ in some aspects.

The Low Carb, High Fat Diet

I started the LCHF diet. That's low carb, high fat. When I first heard of it I was really sceptical. You would be, too. All of our lives people have been saying how good carbohydrates are and to avoid fat as much as possible. Every doctor, every commercial, every magazine is telling us the wrong things. We were artificially programmed to think that carbs are good, they give us more energy, it lowers the chance of getting heart diseases and it will make us look better. Turns out it's all a big lie.

The Real Food Pyramid
If you really prefer to stay blind, don't read this article. I am not a dietitian, just a regular guy, who wants to eat healthy. Found this diet and I am feeling much better than ever before. But for that to happen it took some time, dedication and a lot of reading.

What is LCHF diet?

Basically the title says it all. You need to lower as much as possible your carbohydrates consumption and eat as much fat as possible. Why? What you know about food is that carbs are good, because they are giving you energy which is very important for your body. Yes, it gives you energy, but at what price? Did you know that your body transforms the carbs into fat? This has been scientifically proven two centuries ago.

What Kind of Games Does Ender Play?

So I saw Ender's Game. It was of those movies I've expected, but wasn't really talked about. When I asked some of my friends and colleagues to come watch it with me they were all like "What's ender?" Probably I spend too much time on the internet, watching trailers and reviews on Reddit, but I thought this was a really anticipated film.

Turns out there were only 10 people in the cinema. There were more on Captain Philips! Yes, Captain Philips is a brilliant film, but it hasn't got many special effects, it's more dramatic and is too realistic for the masses. But only 10 people for a picture with so many effects? I guess there weren't so many adverts on TV...

This is one of these movies you can skip, but you shouldn't. The critics are neutral about it. Haters are not really hating it. The people who love it are not worshipping it. Everything is grey, everything is a little bit neutral. There were big expectations from some and nobody is complaining. Even the geeks are saying the film is following the book. So what seems to be the problem? Maybe not enough people have seen it yet? Maybe when everything is like in the book it's boring and you don't have anything to argue about?

The Phone Worth Keeping

Mobile phones are no longer what they used to be. For the past ten years, OEMs have transformed the ordinary cell phone into a modern pocket computer capable to satisfy our increasing needs for mobility and ease of access.

However, there are a lot of problems which accompany this fashion. The current market models follows the one year upgrade strategy. That means a new piece of hardware comes in the stores roughly every twelve months. This requires us to buy a completely new device in order to receive the new updates and cutting edge-technology that comes along.

Armageddon May Be Real

An asteroid collision with Earth
An asteroid impact from an artists point of view
The Earth is in danger. As we know, space objects are in constant motion and every now and them, the trajectories meet and they collide. It may be useful on the pool table, but astral impacts are catastrophes beyond our ability to comprehend.

The Dark World

After the first movie I wasn't that excited about the sequel. Just another film with a lot of action, a few silly scenes and a lot of handsome men (and then people are saying comicbooks are only for men... yeah right). I didn't expect anything deep or meaningful.

Then I saw the first trailer - it looked a little bit darker. I guess all marvel characters, and not only, are becoming a little bit darker with time, so they can look deeper and gain a bigger audience. Some succeed, other just make another bad film, but with darker colours. So I got intrigued and gave it a chance.

UK's 10 Weirdest Laws

You have probably heard of weird or completely wrong laws all over the world. Some are left from older times, when values and morals were different, however, some have no justification what so ever. Well, the United Kingdom is no exception to this. Here are the crown's ten most bizarre laws.

1. Scolding is branded illegal

In 1585 a law was passed that announced scolding in a public for an offence and was persecuted to the law. As unbelievable as it may sound, there was even punishment for the ones that scolded. The "cold-hearted" criminals had to wear a scolder's bridle or in some cases - a metal cage around their head. Some sources indicate of a third punishment for scolding. It was called "the ducking chair". As you might have already guessed, the offenders were strapped to a chair and then repeatedly ducked in water.
